Communications Intern to SACC-USA

The Swedish American Chambers of Commerce of the USA, Inc. located in the Washington D.C. suburb of Alexandria is offering a training position as Communications Intern. The main tasks are assisting with the design of flyers and other marketing materials, updating websites, producing electronic newsletters, editorial assistance and coordination of advertisements for our membership magazine Currents, proofreading, corresponding with members and other administrative tasks. Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver is a requirement for the position.

Your training at the Swedish-American Chambers of Commerce will give you valuable work experience and knowledge in trade, commerce and investment between the United States and Sweden.

Duration of training period: Flexible. Start date end of May/beginning of June 2009.

Location: Alexandria, Virginia (Washington, D.C. metro area)

Compensation: This is an unpaid position that could potentially be combined with studies.

Requirements: To participate in the SACC-USA Trainee Program, you must be a current or recent student at a Swedish institution of higher learning (category intern) or have a degree from such an institution and one year’s experience in the field (category trainee). The intern/trainee should have the intention to return to Sweden at the end of the training period.

The SACC-USA trainee program enables Swedish students and young professionals to come to the U.S. on a J-1 visa for a period up to 12 months (interns) or 18 months (trainees).
