Internship in Event Management

Are you interested in gathering marketing experience while working on challenging projects in an international environment? Then you might be the right candidate for an internship in HP Software Marketing. The HP European Software Marketing Centre is searching for an intern assisting the Marketing Program Manager with specific event-related tasks.

Job Description: Your main task during the first 5-6 months will be to help organize ”HP Software
Universe 2010″, HP’s biggest annual software event and one of the largest software events
in Europe. This year HP Software Universe will take place in Hamburg, Germany.

During the preparation period you will:
- be the main interface for exhibitors and sponsors in the invitation, communication and logistical process
- cooperate with different external agencies dealing with web development, collateral and signage creation, giveaways & hardware ordering
- coordinating the exhibition on-site, assisting exhibitors and sponsors with requests as
- well as helping with the delegate registration

Other tasks include: organizing smaller software events for partners and customers, event evaluation as well as helping team colleagues with long term and ad-hoc projects.
Marketing team: The Software Marketing centre is an international team of approximately 20 permanent employees,
supported by students on 1- year placements. A close cooperation with HP worldwide and regional
HP marketing teams, customers and channel partners is part of the daily work.
Location: The Software Marketing Centre is located in Boeblingen in the region of Baden-Württemberg.
Boeblingen is excellently communicated to Stuttgart, located 25 minutes away by train.

Duration: From the beginning of June 2010 to the end of June 2011.
Your background: Students (preferably EU) with a background in International Marketing, Marketing Communications, International Business looking for a 1 year-placement as part of their studies, or gathering working experience.

Furthermore, you should provide the following qualifications:
- Fluent in English, knowledge of other European languages is an advantage
- Well-organized, proactive and professional
- Strong communications skills, written and spoken
- Excellent interpersonal skills, open-minded, self-reliant and cooperative
- Intermediate to Microsoft product knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
